Daruma-ji Temple

Daruma-ji Temple is a famous temple with a connection to Prince Shotoku.
Based on a legend in the Nihon Shoki where Prince Shotoku saved a starving person (an incarnation of Bodhidharma) and gave him a proper burial, in the Kamakura period, a temple was built over the tomb where Bodhidharma was supposedly buried.
The temple's wooden statues of Prince Shotoku and Bodhidharma have been classified as Important Cultural Properties.
On weekends and holidays, volunteer guides are always there to guide visitors.
You can also see a statue of Yukimaru!
