WESTNARA “Premium Shaved Ice” is born!
Nara Prefecture is said to be the birthplace of the culture of eating ice, as Himuro Shrine, which is said to be the guardian deity of Himuro, is located in Nara City and Tenri City.
Therefore, we started a JAL collaboration premium shaved ice project that utilizes local fruits, agricultural products, and specialty products. Starting from April 2020, you will be able to enjoy premium shaved ice supervised by JAL international first class in-flight pastry chefs at WESTNARA premium shaved ice certified stores.
Premium shaved ice uses seasonal ingredients and specialty products.

At WESTNARA premium shaved ice certified stores, you can enjoy either ① or ②.
① There are a total of 8 types of sauce and syrup recipes supervised by JAL international first class in-flight pastry chefs, and certified stores use local fruits, agricultural products, and specialty products for the sauce and syrup in the recipes, and create original "premium shaved ice" that incorporates the charm of the region. ” provided.

This store has met the certification standards set by the WESTNARA Wide-Area Tourism Promotion Council, including complying with recipe usage guidelines supervised by JAL's international first class in-flight pastry chef and developing a menu that incorporates the appeal of local agricultural products and specialty products.

Old house café on Kingyo(Goldfish) Street. The interior is a relaxing space where you can be soothed by cute goldfish. In addition to lunch, the shop also offers popular sweets such as 'Kingyo Soda' and 'Kingyo Sukui Anmitsu', which are also visually pretty.

Wa cafe Fukokuen
Old private house café located a 5-minute walk from the World Heritage Site Horyu-ji Temple. This Japanese-style café is popular for its Ikaruga's speciality 'Tatsuta-age lunch' and other sweets made with Yamato tea.

Relaxation café located between JR Horyu-ji Station (5-minute walk) and the World Heritage Site Horyu-ji Temple (15-minute walk).
